How replacement membership works in RONDAPP
A Spot-Swap happens when an existing pool member needs to exit before the pool completes. Rather than dissolving the pool, the departing member's slot is made available to a replacement member. This keeps the pool intact and protects everyone else's savings schedule.
When you take over a spot mid-pool, you are stepping into the shoes of the departing member. To be fully "caught up," you must pay the Equity Buy-In — this represents all the contributions the previous member had already made.
This payment goes directly to the departing member as a refund of their contributions (minus a 10% RONDAPP platform fee on the equity transfer — not from you).
After paying the Equity Buy-In, you continue making regular weekly contributions for all remaining weeks of the pool — exactly as any original member would have. Your payout week stays as originally assigned to the departing member (or whichever week you selected).
A 1% ACH processing fee is added on top of the Equity Buy-In at checkout, covering the bank transfer cost — the same fee applied to every weekly contribution.
Both the Equity Buy-In and the 1% ACH fee are non-refundable once the ACH payment clears. You recoup the buy-in only by completing the remaining weeks and receiving your scheduled payout.
By paying the Equity Buy-In, you are effectively treated as if you had been in the pool from the very beginning. Your payment record is marked as up-to-date for all past weeks, and you receive your full scheduled payout at the same time the departing member would have.
Example: 10-member pool at $200/week
Total pool payout = $2,000 per member
Joining at Week 4 → Equity Buy-In = 3 × $200 = $600
Future contributions = 7 remaining weeks (Wks 4–10) × $200 = $1,400
Total out-of-pocket = $600 + $1,400 = $2,000
Your payout = $2,000 − 10% fee = $1,800
Net cost of using the platform = −$200 (the 10% fee)
The real benefit of a Spot-Swap is liquidity — you gain access to a large lump-sum payout without waiting to join a new pool from scratch. The 10% service fee covers the cost of that convenience.
